Latest project at Obie's Garage

March 14, 2017

Here is the latest project in Obie's Garage. Kim "Obie" Oberholzer enjoys fabrication and custom wiring. This project was on a friends John Deere tractor with a bucket and backhoe. On the standard lighting with the bucket raised it would block the headlights making night time use difficult. Also the small swivel lights on the fender gave limited lighting for the backhoe. Kim designed special brackets that clamped onto the ROPS rollover bar instead of drilling into it which would have compromised the integrity of the rollover bar. All lights are LED lights for minimum power draw yet providing maximum light output. All wiring was enclosed in a protective loom and hidden wherever possible. Wiring was run to switches on the dash which had weather resistant boots on them. Switches were fused for safety. Kim has wired several tractors with this type of lighting system. He also has added LED loading lights on trailers, LED reverse lights on trailers, flashing LED lights on landscaper trailers, forward and reverse LED lights on 4 wheelers and LED strip lighting inside enclosed. If you're in the eastern Lancaster County Pa. area and are interested in this type of light installations please feel free to contact Kim. Thanks for viewing this blog and may God Bless.
